Billy Joel & Rod Stewart to Perform at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Sept. 13

The Piano Man has made it his habit to share co-headlining shows with fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, such as ex-Police frontman Rod Stewart. A Citi ticket presale begins Monday, January 29 at 10 a.m. for this concert at Cleveland Browns Stadium on September 13; general sale for tickets begins Friday, Feb 2nd.

At their inaugural concert together, Joel and LeBlanc will perform some of their most beloved hits. Joel has won six Grammys – including the prestigious Legend award – and sold more than 160 million records worldwide, becoming one of the best-selling artists ever in music. Additionally, Joel was inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – once as an artist solo and once with The Faces.

LiveNation and Cleveland officials gathered Thursday afternoon at Cleveland Browns Stadium for a joint press conference to announce this concert, alongside Destination Cleveland CEO David Gilbert, Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb, Cleveland Browns owner Whitney Haslam Johnson and LiveNation senior vice president of marketing and sponsorship sales Barry Gabel – all were present for this announcement.

Gabel tells 3News it is a hugely significant event for the region to secure this show and notes that more high-profile concerts have recently come to Minneapolis. Gabel notes there’s an intricate puzzle involved when booking major shows, which may involve dates available, venue space costs, expenses related to hosting the concert and even travel considerations.

Gilbert remains optimistic that Cleveland is poised for more large-scale events like this one, given that artists already flock to Cleveland as a top destination and music tourism is contributing billions of dollars annually to the city.

Gabel anticipates an enthusiastic response for their concert at Browns Stadium, which boasts an elegant setting and has the capacity to quickly sell out. They will be supported by a full band; fans can see all lineup details for this tour on its website.
